Orthopedic surgery
Orthopedics deals with diseases or abnormalities affecting the bones, joints, tendons, and muscles of your pet. If your pet is limping, reacting painfully or aggressively to touch, or not moving as smoothly as before, we will conduct an orthopedic examination to identify the problem. We start by observing your pet’s gait, and for cats, it’s helpful if you can film this at home. Then, we assess muscle tone, body posture, and check for abnormal mobility or swellings in the bones or joints. Additional tests such as X-rays may be necessary, with or without mild sedation. Subsequently, we’ll discuss with you the required treatment to assist your pet effectively. In cases of uncertainty, we always consult with a specialized orthopedic surgeon.
